Description: The Skies Above quilt is a simple design that looks complicated. The entire quilt is made of squares and half square triangles. It is the placement of the pieces and the colors that produce the amazing image of the sun, moon and stars. Skill Level: Confident Beginner In class we will talk about organizing your fabric, cutting to save time and avoid waste, the fastest way to make half square triangles, and the best way to assemble each block. The color pallet of Skies Above consists of blue and yellow to represent the elements found in the sky. You need four fabrics in cream and yellow for the sun moon and stars, and six blue fabrics ranging from palest sky blue to deepest indigo for the night sky. Skies Above can be made in three sizes: Lap quilt size 78 x 78. Queen quilt size 97 x 97. King quilt size 117 x 117.
