Description: Sparkling Blooms Quilt is a skill building class featuring 8 at a time HSTs, no waste flying geese and guidance for managing directional prints.  The fat quarter friendly design shines in patriotic fabrics for the US 250th anniversary or Quilts of Valor, and is equally beautiful in Christmas colors, rainbows or a modern two-color scheme.

Pattern Required: Yes – $12 paid to the instructor

Supply List:  Sewing machine, Basic sewing supplies (straight pins and pin cushion, scissors, seam ripper, fabric marking pen or pencil, small cutting mat (no larger than 12x18), rotary cutter)

Three Color Version (like patriotic): Reds - 6 assorted Fat Quarters (FQs) or 1-1/2 yards, Blues - 6 assorted FQs or 1-1/2 yards                                Middle Star (low volume light) - 4 assorted FQs or 1 yard (if using the same as the background fabric, just buy one additional yard of background fabric), Background - 2-3/4 yards

Two Color Version:  Stars - 3 yards                       Background - 3-3/4 yards

Twelve Color Version (like the rainbow):

Stars - 12 FQs (assorted colors)                Middle Star - 4 assorted FQs or if using the same as the background fabric, buy one additional yard of background fabric,  Background 2-3/4 yards

To finish the quilt you will need: Binding: 5/8 yard and Backing 5-1/3 yards (not needed for class)
